| Roc nation’s finest, young paris and tiwa savage team up for new remix |
Tiwa Savage signed to Roc Nation earlier this year, becoming the first African act to sign to Jay Z’s American label. Since then, she’s been very active on the tour scene but her upcoming work has kind of been underwraps. This week, however, we caught a glimpse of her first bit of work when she hopped onto the remix of Young Paris’s song, “Best of Me”.
Considering that Young Paris is a very big proponent of African art and a lover of all things Melanin (in fact his label is named “Melanin Records!”) this collaboration definitely made sense.
When an African artist signs to an American label there’s always the fear that their identity will be lost in the new sound but it seems as if Tiwa is moving strategically. Listen to the remix below and let us know if you think it’s fire.
