Tecno Camon CM Review

Tecno isn’t here to play this 2018, they are going almost bezel-less with the new Camon smartphone, the Tecno Camon CM. The new device sports a FullView display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. According to a video posted on YouTube, the smartphone was announced first in India and known as Tecno Camon I in the Middle East.

Tecno Camon CM DESIGN

The new Camon CM is a beauty to behold and slim as well, measuring 7.75mm slim. The device sports a rear fingerprint scanner and a horizontally placed rear camera and Quad-LED Flash at the top left.

It has more visible curved edges according to the leaked photos, and a 3.5mm jack.

The dual-sim compatible device is a show stealer and will definitely turn heads in a gathering. This is the first TECNO’s device that will sport a near bezel-less display which TECNO called Full Vision display.

TECNO CAMON CM PRICE & WHERE TO BUY IN NIGERIA

TECNO Camon CM will be launched in Nigeria on the 9th January 2018. It is expected to be available for purchase in Nigeria around mid-January and will retail for around N50,000-N55,000 if the information we got is anything to go by.

Camon CM will also be sold on Jumia Nigeria and can be purchased from there with delivery across Nigeria. If you are in Kenya, you can as well purchase from the popular online e-commerce site.

FULL VIEW DISPLAY

Tecno Camon CM sports a 5.65-inch Full Vision screen, a one of a kind screen size from Tecno. The screen also boasts of 720 x 1440 pixels in screen resolution. From the photo shared by Tecno, we can see it has no side bezels, dishing out an 18:9 aspect ratio.

Nevertheless, there seem to be little bezels at the lower and upper part of the screen for sensors. Now, this is worthy to be called a mobile cinema, its definitely a ‘New Year, New View’ from Tecno and we are loving it.

HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

The device houses the Mediatek MTK6737H Quad-core chipset clocking at 1.3GHz. It runs smoothly on Android 7.0 Nougat with HiOS, experience fast and hassle-free navigation with the Camon CM.

It boasts 2GB of RAM for smooth multitasking and app launching. For storing all your files, there’s a 16GB internal storage, which is also expandable to 128GB using microSD.

There is also a 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM variant which was spotted online, this variant is said to be available in the Middle East but we are yet to confirm if this will be available in Africa also.

CAMERA

The Tecno Camon series are famous for selfie capability and the Tecno Camon CM didn’t disappoint. It has a crystal clear 13MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and a dedicated LED flash.

At the back, there’s another 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and a Quad-LED Flash, for clearer portraits.

If you love to take clearer pictures, the Camon CM should be your device of choice.

BATTERY

The Tecno Camon CM boasts of a 3050mAh Non-removable battery. We can’t tell at this stage if it has the trending fast charging feature. But judging from the recent devices from the brand, nothing short is expected.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

Tecno Camon CM is not yet available in Africa at the moment, but it should be launched by Tecno this January 2018.
