On March 31st Facebook discontinued the native facebook app on all BlackBerry devices including Blackberry OS10, now it’s time for whatsapp to do the same. One might be thinking the two companies (Facebook & BlackBerry; Remember Facebook now owns Whatsapp) have an unsettled beef but NO!
According to Whatsapp.com’s Blog post HERE BlackBerry has failed to provide resources capable of handling future developments that will be effected on Whatsapp as 2016 runs through. This to me is a big blow to the one time fan favorite mobile giant Blackberry.
The action will as well affect users of these devices
- Nokia S40
- Nokia Symbian S60
- Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
- Windows Phone 7.1
- iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
So if you’re on any of the aforementioned devices i think it’s high time you planned on buying a new phone. Now my blackberry feels useless.
